This course includes the national standard objectives for the paramedic profession. There will be 500 hours in the classroom, 450 hours clinical rotation including externship with area Life Squads. Vanguard-Sentinel Career Center gained a 5 year continuing accreditation from CoAEMSP and CAAHEP which permits our students to test National Registry. The Vanguard-Sentinel Career Center’s Paramedic course is fully accredited by the ODPS Division of EMS and CoAEMSP.
Learn: Education necessary for conduct as a Paramedic in the State of Ohio including knowledge to achieve competency, clinical behaviors and judgement as an entry-level paramedic and skill-level competency.
Hours: Total 950 hours – 500 classroom hours and 450 externship hours including capstone

CoAEMSP/CAAHEP Annual Student outcomesThe most current CoAEMSP Annual Report was for the calendar year 2021. The most recent success rate for the National Registry of EMT Paramedic/State Cognitive exam was 85.7%. The most recent positive placement rate for graduates was 100%. Positive placement is defined by the CoAEMSP as ‘Employed full or part-time in a related field and/or continuing his/her education and/or serving in the military’. Positive placement is measured at completion of the program. The most recent retention rate was 80%.
