Service Technician

About the Position

As a Service Technician I, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance with all Fleet Services Equipment (Forklifts), automated systems, and conveyors involving all customer and vendors of Kenco Fleet Services.

 

Functions

  • Repair and maintain all Fleet Services Equipment, automated systems, and conveyors using standards set by site.
  • Responsible for scheduling Planned Maintenance (PM) of all Fleet Services Equipment, automated systems, and conveyors, and keeping updated records of PM’s completed.
  • Inspects forklifts, automated systems, conveyors, and other operating equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards.
  • Use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot engines, engine fuel systems, transmissions, or other components on material handling equipment, automated systems, and conveyors.
  • Communicate any abuse damages to onsite personnel with a detailed description of problem.
  • Communicate with KFS Parts Manager on parts and supplies needed to maintain equipment.
  • Maintain parts inventory and repair records for all equipment by completing accurate paperwork.
  • Conducts test of safety equipment to ensure OSHA and operational standards.
  • Maintains accurate preventive maintenance records.
  • Must interact with customers and coworkers in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for general cleanliness of service area always.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or tech school graduate required.
  • 0 – 2 years of mechanic experience; preferably prior experience with repair and maintenance of material handling, automated systems, and conveyors, or similar equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on multiple types of equipment and systems.
  • Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, highly responsible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Supply own mechanic technician hand tools.
  • Must be able to safely operate lift trucks.

Welder

Role and Responsibilities

  • Observe & follow all safety policies and procedures in compliance with the organizational rules, while seeking continuous improvement. Responsible for his/her safety as well as that of his/her colleagues.
  • Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques.
  • May be required to use Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together in various body positions.
  • Bolts, clamps and welds together metal components of products using arc and arc gas welding equipment. May weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead position. May tack weld assemblies together.
  • Connects cable from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope and pulse as specified by procedure.
  • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld-line, maintaining length of arc and speed and movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.
  • May clean or degrease weld joint or workplace, using wire brush, or portable grinder.
  • May repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes. May remove excess weld, defective weld material, slag and spatter, using carbon arc gouge, hand scrapper, grinder or power chipper. May cut metal plates or structural shapes.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Studies blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
  • Actively supports all Standard Technology activities, i.e. failure analysis etc.
  • Supports all job functions by being cross trained in each area.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and requirements.
  • Exercises independent judgment as needed.
  • Lift and position work pieces, manually or with hoists.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Apply basic mathematics to solve problems.
  • Plan work and select proper tools.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.

General Factor Labor – Manufacturing

Scope of Job:

 General laborer is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations.  Some of the duties could include assembly operations (core stack, leak test, final assembly), inspection, machining; painting, cleanline operations, material control (stockroom, shipping and receiving) and comp fab operations.

Education/Prerequisite Skills:

  • Ability to read and write, interpret measurements and readings, exercise sound independent judgment.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and work process instructions.
  • Ability to move parts and equipment in a safe and practical manner.
  • Ability to relate to and interact appropriately with others in a team environment and a willingness to assist, educate and train others.
  • Ability to use hand tools and inspect gauges.
  • Consistently comply with all applicable safety and health rules and regulations including compliance with a respiratory protection program and hearing conservation, if applicable.
  • Must comply with FAA requirements for “safety sensitive” position.

Duties:

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all required assembly operations; inspection and checking duties on various parts, sub-assemblies, completed assemblies and incoming materials
  • Cleanline operations by performing all necessary functions to clean, degrease, alodine/chromate coat, pickle, passivate, dry, and otherwise prepare parts, assemblies and/or subassemblies for processing or shipment.
  • Comp Fab setup and operation of all equipment and tools required to produce fin, core tubes, and sheet metal components
  • Machining setup and operate manually or by CNC machine for production of the line of Company products
  • Material Control performs a range of common duties related to the receipt, movement and transportation, sorting, and stocking, and preserving, packaging, and shipping of all materials, supplies, and company products
  • Paint performs a wide variety of painting operations as in masking, touch up painting and conversion coating touch up.
  • Work with engineering to improve processes as needed.
  • May be exposed to noise, dust, fumes (not over OSHA permissible exposure levels)
  • Ability to train other employees, as needed.

 

Marginal Functions:

 

  • Maintain clean an orderly work area by sweeping and dusting floors, tables equipment, etc.
  • Move parts manually and/or with appropriate handling equipment.

Triumph Thermal Systems is medium sized aerospace manufacturing company designing and building various heat exchangers for both civilian and military aircraft. Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of assigned 3rd shift departments and bargaining unit employees. Responsible for assuring that productivity, quality and safety standards are maintained.

Responsible for condition of equipment and securing maintenance services. Coordinates with other Production Supervision, Production Planning, Process Engineering, Standards and Quality control to maintain workforce efficiencies, production schedules, quality of workmanship, etc.

We are currently seeking a Supervisor to fill this role for our Forest, Ohio Location.

Responsibilities: • Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality/inspection standards and evaluation methods for products and processes. Establishes quality systems and procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, cost estimates, and quality plans. Ensures that project and/or process control documentation is compliant with requirements and/or contract.

• Assesses quality performance (or cost-of-quality) using statistical and analytical methods. Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, reliability, and accuracy of products, processes, and production equipment. Provide technical expertise relative to CMM utilization.

• Coordinates and guides technical evaluations, analysis, and related data acquisition processes to ensure division quality objectives are achieved. Assumes direct responsibility for monitoring, coordinating and providing oversight of Tool & Gauge (Layout) room activity.

• Plans, prepares, and monitors work progress, evaluates time standards and recommends corrective action throughout the assigned work area. Coordinates the availability of manpower, materials and machinery required to meet delivery due dates. Provides statistical information for quality improvements by determining and applying testing methods and criteria.

• Provides guidance toward solving work related problems and the application of acceptable performance and quality standards. Establishes and maintains effective controls to assure accuracy and timely completion of assigned work projects.

• Trains and develops employees and evaluates work performance. Recommends personnel action and applies performance management/ leadership techniques to assure positive employee relations. Explains and supports company policies and procedures. Complies with applicable negotiated labor agreements.

• Bachelors degree (BA) in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field.

• Three or more years of related experience

Pipelayers install piping underground to channel water out of sight.
