Maintenance

GENERAL SUMMARY
Maintain and repair factory equipment and other industrial machinery

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls
Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment when there is a problem
Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components
Perform tests to make sure that the machine is running smoothly
Adjust and calibrate equipment and machinery to optimal specifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma plus equivalent experience, or 2 year associate’s degree in industrial maintenance or related field

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Manual dexterity. When handling very small parts, workers must have a steady hand and good hand–eye coordination.
Mechanical skills. Workers must be able to reassemble large, complex machines after finishing a repair.
Troubleshooting skills. Industrial machinery mechanics and maintenance workers and millwrights must observe and properly diagnose and fix problems that a machine may be having

Responsible for personal and others’ Health and Safety
Machine downtime can cause missed shipments to customers

The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) is responsible for assisting residents with daily nursing care as directed by clinical supervisors.

Full and Part Time shifts available are:

  • 8-hour shifts, every other weekend rotations required
  • 6am-2pm | 2-10pm | 10p-6a
  • PRN

Salary: $17.00 per hour

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • State approved nursing assistant course completion/certification, or enrollment in approved course per state guidelines.
  • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the job without harm to self or others.
  • Ability to prioritize duties.
  • Ability to understand and follow work assignments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Dietary Assistant – Cook Positions

Come join our awesome team as a Cook & Dietary Assistant with Autumnwood Care Center! Autumnwood Care Center is part of Volunteers of America National Services which serves as the Housing and Healthcare affiliate of the Volunteers of America parent organization.

Now offering a fulltime position, working a dual role as a Cook and Dietary Assistant!

Shift Available: 10am-6:30pm. Requires every other weekend.
Salary: Cook $16.50-$17 per hour and Dietary Assistant $13-$14/hour based on previous experience

The Cook/Dietary role must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
  • General knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving required.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents, family members and the public.
  • Ability to make various computations in monitoring inventory, recipe preparation, and keeping work records.
  • Possesses adequate strength and endurance to meet the strenuous physical demands of preparing and carrying quantity foods.
  • Possesses coordination and dexterity required to prepare food and operate dietary equipment.
  • Visual acuity and color discrimination for examining cooked and stored foods; taste and smell discrimination in determining nutritional quality and palatability of foods.
  • Work in an area that is often very hot/cold.
  • Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.

Part Time Opening:

Dietary Assistant Shift times: 3:30-6:30pm and requires every other weekend
Salary: $13-14 per hour based on previous experience

Part Time Dietary Assistant Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in a Healthcare /Senior Living environment that is taking precautions for COVID-19.
  • No experience is required, training will be provided.
  • Ability to read and understand procedures used for work assignments, instructions, recipe directions and diet order cards.
  • Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.

Welder

Role and Responsibilities

  • Observe & follow all safety policies and procedures in compliance with the organizational rules, while seeking continuous improvement. Responsible for his/her safety as well as that of his/her colleagues.
  • Selects equipment and plans layouts, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metal machining, weld shrinkage and welding techniques.
  • May be required to use Gas-Metal Arc, Flux-Cored Arc, Gas-Tungsten Arc, Submerged Arc, or Shielded Metal Arc welding processes.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together in various body positions.
  • Bolts, clamps and welds together metal components of products using arc and arc gas welding equipment. May weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead position. May tack weld assemblies together.
  • Connects cable from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope and pulse as specified by procedure.
  • Manually guides electrode or gun along weld-line, maintaining length of arc and speed and movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.
  • May clean or degrease weld joint or workplace, using wire brush, or portable grinder.
  • May repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes. May remove excess weld, defective weld material, slag and spatter, using carbon arc gouge, hand scrapper, grinder or power chipper. May cut metal plates or structural shapes.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Studies blueprints, work orders, or machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
  • Actively supports all Standard Technology activities, i.e. failure analysis etc.
  • Supports all job functions by being cross trained in each area.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and requirements.
  • Exercises independent judgment as needed.
  • Lift and position work pieces, manually or with hoists.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
  • Apply basic mathematics to solve problems.
  • Plan work and select proper tools.
  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
  • Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.
  • Able to follow quality standards on a consistent basis.
  • Attentiveness, focus, strength and stamina are key traits needed for this process.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to work independently
